She felt that she already knew Gino Di Bartoli well enough to be confident on this point. He was proud, and he was practical, and she wasn’t going to kid herself. If there had been anything especially revolutionary and fantastic and earth-shattering in the way they’d kissed, it must have come from him, not from her.

He was the one with the European fire and the wide experience that came with being a highly eligible male. She was the one who only looked like she should be good in bed, the one who didn’t live up to expectations when it came to the crunch, the one who might be crazy and naive to feel this way after such a nasty divorce, but who still believed very strongly in marriage, all the same.
